Alternative hip hop vocalist and producer Swampman brings melodies and introspective raps to a variety of hiphop styles from lofi and boom bap to more psychedelic trap and pop songs. The southern Maryland / PG county born artist showed his love for multiple musical styles in 2020’s “And They Never Spoke Again” which had culminated his best tracks from when he started to gain traction on SoundCloud in 2017 to up until that point. Born Darren Johnson jr in Clinton, Maryland, named after his late father who inspired him after seeing his band “The Mojo Priest’s” work with the DC blues society. the passion he had performing and his love for music left a impact and Darren jr was in guitar classes and played in the school band since elementary school. Now 22 Swampman sets off to establish a strong connection with his audience, consistently dropping yearly albums of alternating collaboration and solo endeavors.
