James Moore is a singer/songwriter from Chicago, Illinois. Being the son of musician and acclaimed songwriter(Jimmy Moore), James has been around music his entire life. He wrote his first song at the age of seven, played trumpet throughout grade school, and played the french horn in his high school band. During his senior year James became serious about his songwriting and began playing everywhere from talent shows to block parties, bars and sorority houses. He continued to pursue music in Champaign-Urbana where he attended the University of Illinois. It was there he met Dan Pearson, and though neither studied music at the school, the two played every week at the city’s most widely known music venue, Canopy Club. In 2016 James recorded released his debut EP, Feel. , to positive critical reviews. Looking forward to the next thing, that summer, Moore embarked on a 12-day road trip for the documentary series, "Can I sing you a song?". Moore produced the documentary with Chicago based Filmmaker, Jimmykurz. While producing CISYAS, Moore started a band with frequent collaborator, Dan Pearson. They called it, The Dirty Nines. Since their inception in the 2016, they have released 2 projects and 2 singles: Steve's Closet (2016), Stumble (2017), Alive (2018), and Waves (2020). Currently, Moore is working on two major projects. A split EP with Dan Pearson featuring six songs & two new singles from The Dirty Nines. Both are expected to be released in 2021.
