Maja’s gentle, yet strong voice and vocal interpretation are the most recognisable parts of her artistic expression supplemented by her own songs that seem rather diversified at first glance, but are actually interwoven with Maja’s authenticity. Maja started as a singer and co-author in the band called Detour ; "Detour", "Detour–Tv" and "A što ak ja". On her first solo album “Kada ne bih imala strah” (2018), Maja introduced us to her intimate world through her ballads that remind of chansons in which she bares the sound fully for the first time and puts her and her voice in the foreground. Maja and a guitar player Ivan Kepec perform the music of Leonard Cohen. They also recorded an album “An Evening with Leonard Cohen” and additionally, they have held eponymous concerts. They’ve remained faithful to the Cohen’s legacy, but approached it open-mindedly and free from any burdens, like little zen Buddhists. The two of them also make a band called Poma that plays songs written and composed by Maja’s friend Poma. The songs that were written in English are flirtatious and playful in combining jazz, folk and pop music. In 2020, Maja released her second solo album titled “Bye, Bye Saturn”, different and specific because of the swifter changes in music styles. Maja plays with musical quotes from the Croatian pop-music heritage and merges her theatre experience with the musical pop production. Maja is also an actress whose “daily job” includes playing in the theatre and films.
