Niklas Wandt is a drummer/percussionist, producer and DJ living in Berlin. Originally from a diverse self-taught background of Free Jazz, Rap and Psychedelic Rock, his musical aspirations first matured at Düsseldorf's Salon des Amateurs and in bands such as Stabil Elite and Oracles. Some years on the road onwards, 2018 started with Niklas increasing his DJ endeavours and bringing his more electronic endeavours to fruition, for an original and open take on the classic forms, infused by a wide array of influences and sound sources. Wolf Müller & Niklas Wandt dropped their debut LP "Instrumentalmusik von der Mitte der World" to wide acclaim. His German language Wave duo Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge also debuted that year. 2019 saw the release of the "Wismut" EP with veteran Sascha Funke on Multi Culti and Bodenbeläge's sophomore EP. Niklas also started recording and producing more on his own, forming what were initially simple drum jams into complex Cosmic music pieces. His appearance on Mathias Modica presents Kraut Jazz Futurism led to the connection to Berlin based label Kryptox and yielded the Erdtöne EP in the summer of 2020. A collaborative release with Kris Baha as "AngstLust" and the Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge debut LP "Der Große Preis" followed. Next up are the EP "Esculturas Rupestres" with Cass. on the candomblé imprint and the EP Balearische Bibliothek on ITALIC recordings.
