Biography

A singer/songwriter whose intimate, atmospheric sound was first displayed on his 1999 debut album, Into the Warm, Shon Jackson creates music that falls under the musician's own self-described label of ethereal/ambient pop. Born and raised in the small town of Butler, AL, Jackson grew up with a love of Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, and pop radio. While a student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he earned a B.A. in vocal performance, he discovered Kate Bush and Enya, both of whom proved to be great influences on Jackson's own work. His first album, Into the Warm, earned Jackson a loyal group of fans in the Birmingham area, with the single "Rocket" enjoying particular popularity on the Internet. ~ Rebecca Flint, Rovi
