https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sapphirecut Sapphirecut doubled as the alias of Philadelphia-based physician/vocalist/composer Megan Taylor and the group she formed with keyboardists Dave Shaffer and Jake Knights. The Pittsburgh-born artist studied chemistry and music theory in college before pursuing a degree in medicine. In December of 2001, a dubplate of the group's track "Free Your Mind" was shared with Danny Tenaglia who wanted to license the track and introduced her to Rob Di Stefano, owner of the dance label Twisted. This single, "Free Your Mind" sreleased in 2003, reached the Top Ten of Billboard's dance chart. Taylor continued to release tracks as Sapphirecut in the years that followed. She also released Action Reaction, Solar Plexus and Together with Twisted and next released another complete album Archives of Sound, Vol. 1, on OSP. She has several subsequent singles on global labels with various artists including a track for Yoko Ono’s Open Your Box CD, many original songs and other remixes and continues to release music under OSP. Taylor hosted her own radio show for 5 years that played on FM and internet. She moved to Asheville in 2012 and continues to compose in her home studio and perform with various musicians ~
