The son of classical musicians, Burk spent his formative years on the explosive Detroit jazz scene of the 1980s. The young pianist and composer followed this formative experience with studies with the likes of Dr. Yusef Lateef, George Russell, Danilo Perez & Paul Bley, These diverse currents flow together fluently and unpredictably to forge the original sound of the american pianist and composer.
