Yanik Coen is a Miami-based DJ, producer & label owner, with nearly 2 decades of experience under his belt. While some may perceive him as new talent, many consider him an icon. Raised in Montreal, Canada with purely Mediterranean roots, his influences growing up range from disco, soul, Hip Hop to Latin and Oriental music. The mixture of cultures added to his hunger to learn from the very best are what molded his style. Through the years, Yanik has developed a very unique sound: sexy, balearic and percussion driven, his energy can be recognized as soon as he hits the decks. Acknowledgement early in his career from House legend Erick Morillo gave Yanik immediate exposure for his Remixes of the Jose Nunez classic 'Bilingual'. Both his profile and artistry grew with subsequent releases on prestigious Dance music record labels Subliminal & Armada. 2012 was a pivotal year in Coen's career, releasing his monster single Throw Your Handz Up. Later that year, he moved to Miami, a city where he truly felt his sound belonged, and he wasn’t wrong. He rapidly went on to dominate the scene and become one of magic city's most influential and sought after DJs, co-founding and curating one of the country’s most iconic weekly parties. His focus is now set on running his brand Not Everyone Understands™️ dividing his time between Miami & Ibiza. His music has garnered support from OG’s like Bob Sinclar and Felix Da Housecat to current icons Jamie Jones and Marco Carola.
