Biography

An Italian composer and lutenist who is thought to have one time served the Duke of Milan, and possibly, Francois I Borrono wrote three collections for lute, the last in corroboration with the noted musician Milano. His original compositions are included in these three books. The genres included were fantasias, tocattas, and suites. In the latter volume he indcluded instrutions for reading the charts as well as a method for holding one note while other parts kept playing. ~ Keith Johnson, Rovi
