A product of Accra, Ghana, J.DEROBIE represents a new breed of African music act, equal parts dancehall star and afrobeats ambassador. J.Derobie, a singer, songwriter and a performer. His style of music mainly cuts across the influence of AfroBeat, Reggae/Dancehall and a touch of HighLife genre. J.Derobie fell in love with music in his early teens, after some years he took music seriously and released his first official song which brought him into the limelight on 11th January 2019, titled Poverty, which happened to become one of the biggest dancehall song on the continent. The track became one of 2019’s biggest Ghanaian hits, landing Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year honors from the VGMA, 3Music and Yrated awards. He went on to release several singles and later, his debut EP, “Nungua Diaries”. After a short break J.Derobie makes a strong return with an LP, titled, “Grains From Love & Reality” which happens to be his debut Album. As it reflects his past and present experiences with love and facing reality. According to J.DEROBIE, the title of his album “GFL&R” was inspired by the variety of songs within the project.
