Le voyage d'Héliodore

Biography

Pur Pasteur is teaming up with video game music composer Xavier-Charles Fecteau to present a new wave of fresh instrumental music that blends neoclassical with lush synth textures, weaving complex narratives out of pure sound. Their first collaboration takes the form of a long play album, Le Voyage d'Héliodore, out on May 22th. The album takes us through different steps on the journey of its protagonist, hinting at a galactic odyssey of sorts. The duo seeks to push the limits of modern classical music by unlocking the chaotic energy of modular synthesis and channeling it through rock-solid arrangements and state-of-the-art mixing. Buckle up and, Bon Voyage. Montreal-based Pur Pasteur (Nathan Giroux) plays the piano and composes music. Since 2017, he has been working at the intersection of contemporary dance, theater productions, circus performances, podcasts, as well as developing his own musical project. In 2019, he crafted the soundtrack to Eduardo Ruiz Vergara's El silencio de las cosas presentes. His first album, Géométries, for solo piano, came out at the end of 2020. In 2021, he performed live music on The Future is Another Country, play by Manolis Antoniou. In 2023/2024, he authored a series of miniatures for children stories that are to be released on Radio-Canada OHdio in May. Artwork in gallery : Maud Le Guennou (@mad_panic)
