Hands of Evil EP

One Life One Love

Biography

Tingstradamus, along with vocalist Zebulun, joins Street Life Recordings, providing two versions of the title track with two further remixes from drum and bass powerhouse duo Serial Killaz. All artists involved represent the international impact and legacy of Jamaican music; Tingstradamus (formally known as Cain.1) hails from Canada, whilst Trinidadian Zebulun supplies vocals and UK-based Serial Killaz join on remix duties. This global assortment of talent falls firmly in line with the remit of Street Life Recordings as a home for dubwise originals and junglistic reworks - as do each and every one of the tracks on this release. The Serial Killaz remix of Hands Of Evil opens the release. Dub sirens, graceful vocals, and a bassline thick enough to stop bullets dominate the introduction, before impactful drums launch the tune into a classic Serial Killaz piece of ragga drum and bass. Following up with a VIP remix, Serial Killaz put a jump up twist on Hands Of Evil. Punchy two-step drums set the energy levels at maximum levels from the outset, before a dirty syncopated bass breaks the meter on the drop. Big festival vibes on both tunes. Source material of the remixes make up the second half of the EP. The original version of Hands Of Evil is a classy infusion of hip-hop and reggae, praising the blessings Jah has bestowed onto Zebulun (such as protection from rivals and law enforcement) and praying they continue.
