Biography

Quartetto Vanvitelli, an Italian Baroque ensemble, is composed of Gian Andrea Guerra, Nicola Brovelli, Luigi Accardo and Mauro Pinciaroli. Each member has a personal musical activity carried out in Italy, in Europe and in various parts of the world. Founded in 2017, the Vanvitelli Quartet – an Italian ensemble specializing in the chamber repertory of the early 18th century – is named after the great architect, a brilliant example of inspiration and elegance, the same qualities sought by the members of the ensemble and recognised by the critics – thanks to four recordings, issued by Arcana: two devoted to Michele Mascitti, a violinist of the Neapolitan school, one in collaboration with Giuseppina Bridelli, the internationally famous mezzo-soprano, contain- ing music of Scarlatti and Caldara, and the last one dedicated to Giuseppe “Joseph” Agus, a violinist from the island of Sardinia who found his fortune in London.
