AJ Bank$y has rooted his career in authenticity, transparency, and witty lyricism, positioning him as one of his generation's most unique and fearless voices. The Melbourne, Florida native began his music career in Atlanta, GA during his undergraduate tenure at Georgia Tech. Bank$y immersed himself in ATL's rich and thriving underground music culture, gracing countless open mics, performing at acclaimed venues such as The Masquerade, and opening Georgia Tech's 2014 Homecoming concert as a member of the The Round Table collective. Touted as the South’s Kendrick Lamar by Rolling Out, Bank$y's music mixes honest truths about his love life, career, relationships, and artistic aspirations. Drawing inspiration from 2000s era backpack rap, his style is reminiscent of an early J. Cole or Wale, combining punchy hooks with vivid anecdotes. Of his 2018 lead single "Back", Lyrical Lemonade wrote, "If you’re a fan of music that tells a good story through some fire bars, then you’ll definitely be a fan of this song and video." Since moving to Jacksonville, FL in 2020, Bank$y has been consumed with reestablishing his Florida roots, nurturing his relationships with friends and family, and amplifying his most recent stencil, "Bunts Make Bases". Released in 2022, the album has been recognized by media staples such as Pigeons and Planes as well as emerging outlets like Sheesh. AJ Bank$y is making strides to solidify his name in the music industry and is elevating his tribe with him.
