With a wealth of experience under her belt, powerhouse vocals, undeniable stage presence and the intrinsic ability to hype a crowd, Martay M’kenzy is one diverse lady. Singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer, West End performer (playing Shenzi in The Lion King and long standing member of percussion show STOMP) Martay is a force to be reckoned with! Hailing from Manchester, she broke onto the music scene at the age of 13 when she signed her first record deal with Chrysalis Records alongside music producer DBM. Collectively known as MC Martay and DJ DBM, their debut single ‘Summertime’ afforded mixes from The Jungle Brothers and Norman Cooke. Later signing to Sony Music as a solo artist, her debut single Gimme all your lovin’ 2000 Ft ZZ Top gained recognition in the UK and Europe. Martay M’kenzy has featured with artists such as The Rebel MC, The Urban Cookie Collective, Mike Oldfield and Errol Brown and collaborated with music industry elite producers such as Steve Robson (One Direction), The Schizofreniks (Tynchy Stryder) and Mark Richards one half of house outfit Solardo, which saw her penning songs for Sarah Harding (Girls Aloud) and Matt Henry (The Voice 2013 finalist). Martay also collaborates with producer/songwriter E.N.V. with their most recent release ‘Put it on me' being produced by Holy Goof and Notion Featuring Mila Falls. Martay M’kenzy can currently be heard featuring on drum and bass anthem Whine Up” with drum and bass producer Turno .
