Kholofelo Mashilo aka Mochene is an independent Hip Hop artist who resides in the East Rand of Gauteng and whose roots are found in Limpopo. Mochene delivers his uniquely, abstract style in English and his native tongue Sepedi. His music is a unique extension of Hip Hop, expressed in a dialect recognized by Black Africans. The journey for Mochene began with the release of his first mixtape titled Red tape in 2011. After giving him hometown glory he followed up with another mixtape titled FovaF (fortune ova fame) which had a radio smash single title "daai deng" that was playlisted on Yfm and on HipHopPowerNights on 5fm. Mochene then took a sabbatical to find himself as an artist and what his true purpose is in the service of music. He came back with a unique style he named "ChantRap" a combination of Sepedi and English. This undeniable fresh style caught the attention of MTN when they were looking for an opening act for Cassper Nyovests Fill Up Orlando. Since then Mochene has appeared on television show Big Up, featured in a Coca-Cola world cup advert & is currently recording new music.
