Biography

.Paulo Praça is a musicien, composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer from Vila do conde. He has collaborated with bands and artists like Sequoia, 3 Tristes Tigres, GNR, Pedro Abrunhosa and The Gift and founded the groups Turbojunkie, Grace and Plaza. He is one of the protagonists of the project “Amália Hoje”, which Has sold almost 100.000 CDs so far. He has recorded over 20 albums, in all the projects in which he took part. He has performed on all continents, having been in countries like Australia, Canada, the USA, Russia, China, Brazil, Macau, Morocco, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, The Netherlands, among others, and has played in mythical places like Central Park, in New York, or the Olympia, in Paris. He has shared the stage with artists like Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, The Cure, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, among others, in the context of Summer Festivals. He has worked, with some of the biggest producers worldwide,, like Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Gomez; kings of Convenience), and more recently with Brian Eno (David Bowie, Talking Heads, U2, etc.) in an adventure that lasted nearly 2 years. Besides his solo career, he is a special guest of the group “The Gift”, has a DJ set with his brother Simão Praça (“BitchBoys”). “Um lugar pra ficar” was released in November 2019. “Onde” is a book-disc inspired by his native Vila do Conde. Two of the biggest names in Portuguese music participate in this epic, Fausto Bordalo Dias and José Cid.
