Samuel Cattiau discovered his voice, with its high and precise range, during applied arts training in France. He then studied vocal technique and learned about the depth within the medieval songs of Northern Europe, the monody and polyphony, as well as the Renaissance and repertoire. Samuel developed his vocal timbre across several octaves, from baritone to countertenor. He went on to encounter different traditions, cultures and monastic communities that practice singing. His research is based on classical music, improvisation, oral transmission, and the relationship between architecture and sound. www.samuelcattiau.fr
