Biography

Born from the late legend Aaron Tokona's AHoriBuzz, Dillastrate features musical heavyweights Henare 'H' Kaa (lead vocals/drums) and Tim Driver (keyboard/bass synth/vocals) going head-to-head to produce deeply memorable, high-energy live performances. The duo are musical weapons, having toured internationally and locally with some of the best in the world (members of The Rolling Stones, for example), known for their explosive live performances, and are sought-after as session musicians for the stage and studio. Dillastrate has frequently featured on national TV, and commerical, iwi and alternative radio alike, and boast strong chart success, with the group's music charting in the New Zealand Top 20 four times. In addition, the group are on a quest to uplift te ao Māori, which has seen their waiata Ko Tātou Te Ahi (produced by Tiki Taane) selected as the theme for New Zealand Cricket worldwide, in close collaboration with TVNZ, and has led to further features on national TV and radio with their bilingual hit Party In My Head (Tāwara Ana) and their Waiata Anthems releases Ko Tātou Te Ahi and Taku Aroha, all of which spent at least 20 weeks in the national RadioScope Te Reo Māori Airplay Top 20.
