BIO    Tha Great was born Alexander Bernard Jefferies, on June 20th 1985, along with 2 sisters and one brother. He started writing music while he was in the sixth grade along with two of his friends. Up until the time he was 15, Alexander thought he had been born in Chicago like most of his family on his father's side, but turns out he was born in Charleston, MO with his mother's family. However, he still reps the Chi and Kansas City,MO.  He moved from Chicago when he was around 6 or 7 years old. His father and mother were never married (from what he can recall) this meant he was bounced back and forth between the two. Alexander never really settled into one spot, until he moved to 33rd and Highland (KCMO) in the 7th grade, "My parents always fought over who had custody." He remembers, until he became a teen. At the age of 15, he was kicked out of the house, first by his father and then by his mother; after she sent him to juvenile, feeling it was the only way she could get help with her son. Alexander went to Juvenile, which he says is harder than jail, for 6 months then later sent to Hilltop for placement. Which turned out to be a 12 month stay. They didn't like the fact that he started smoking weed, so they felt this is the only way they could discipline him for going against their rules.
