Born in Vancouver, BC, Myles Anthony is no stranger to adversity and hardship. After his mother gained custody of him at a young age, she soon became ill and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. This had a drastic effect on their lives, forcing them to go on welfare, move into government housing and eat from the food bank. Due to the stress and pressures of life, at the age of 12, his mom turned to alcohol as a release, becoming fully dependent on the substance. As her alcoholism grew and the home environment worsened, Myles eyes opened to the realities of his current situation, he could no longer depend on his mother to take care of him. Making a conscious decision at a young age to not become a product of his environment would prove to be a defining moment in his life. Always maintaining a positive outlook regardless of the struggle, Myles was drawn to music as an outlet. Growing up Myles listened to hip hop legends such as 2pac, Notorious B.I.G, Spice 1, Gangstarr and Fugees. Inspired by the people around him making music, he decided to take things into his own hands and began to hone his natural talents. Analyzing and focusing his attention on the various beats that caught his ear, Myles started crafting and developing his own sound. Fusing hip hop and electronic music, Myles combines upbeat tempos with epic melodies and backdrops to provide “big” sounding tracks that resonate well with the commercial sound heard both on the radio and in nightclubs across North America.
