Monocoder are a four-piece band from the south of Germany. Three of the members, singer Oliver Maier (called Ölle) and the brothers Matthias Messerschmidt (guitar) and Ulrich Messerschmidt (bass) formed the band Lügenmaul which gained respectable success in the Munich music scene during the 1990's. On the occasion of the wedding of Matthias in 2007, the befriended drummer Luz Marsen was called in to rock the party community with a few old Lügenmaul hits. A couple of years passed until the four spontaneously got together in 2013 for a recording session in a snow-covered mountain hut. The resulting demo tracks were refined in the following years in additional recording sessions in a rented farmhouse. They decided to give the band the new name "Monocoder" and worked eagerly on further material, which will gradually be released on digital platforms in the near future. With a bit of luck it might finally become a physical album. Keep your fingers crossed.
