Biography

Zeynep BakşiKaratağ started her musical life with singing lessons with Seha Okuş at Müjdat Gezen ArtsCentre at 1996. Afterthatshejoined in 1997 theStateConservatory of Istanbul. After a long "family break" Zeynep BakşiKaratağ started 2012 with music again and released in 2014 her first studioalbum "Mozaik" at the label Kalan. “My first record “Mosaic” was a kind of adventure for both, me and my husband. We thought it would be great to raise all these old and traditional songs to a new, modern level, which might be also interesting for a younger generation. And I guess, quite a lot of people were surprised to hear them in a completely different way. The response was overwhelming and encouraging as well. So we decided to move on and evolve in a natural, evolutionary way. This time we wrote four new songs for the album and we invited some friends to join us.” And so they did. For over a year Zeynep and her husband producer Murat were working on this new record. They invited other musicians like Ozbi, Ahmet Aslan and UmutAltıncağ. The result is a journey into a modern and traditional world of Turkish songs. If you liked „Mosaic”, you will surely love „Usulca“. Zeynep BakşiKaratağreleased in 2019 her singles "Bir fırtına tuttu bizi", "Adaletin bu mu dünya" , "Derdim gizli"and “Yalan Dünya”. These singles were played in different tv series in Turkey and becames very popular. Zeynep Bakşi Karatağ released in 2020 some new exiting duets with actor Firat Celik and Dogan Duru (REDD).
