Oteng Molatlhegi was born in the vibrant township of Soshanguve in Tshwane on July 25th, 2005. However, her formative years were spent traversing between the rural landscapes of Taung and the bustling city of Kimberley, where she received her education. Her passion for music ignited at the tender age of 10 during her time at boarding school. A cherished memory involves her spirited rendition of songs from the movie “Dreamgirls” alongside her schoolmates. At just 15, Oteng took a bold step by recording and releasing her debut track titled “Dear Aiden”, which gained popularity among her peers in Kimberley and beyond. The remarkable success of "Dear Aiden" didn't go unnoticed, catching the attention of Tsepo Mtwana, the managing director of Otrem Music. Recognizing Oteng's talent and growing influence, a deal was struck in 2024, marking her as the latest addition to the esteemed roster of Northern Cape’s foremost record label. Under the moniker O.TE.NG, she proudly identifies as an Afro-R&B artist, fusing elements of Afrobeats, R&B, and Trap-soul into her distinctive sound. Inspired by the likes of TEMS and Rihanna, she aspires to carve her own path in the music industry. Her debut release under Otrem Music, "Let Me Go", produced by Kaicy Soulful Keys, serves as her introduction to a wider audience. With her innate talent and boundless potential, O.TE.NG emerges as a captivating artist poised to paint mesmerizing musical landscapes that resonate with audiences worldwide.
