F1rstman, real name Hassan Syed, grew up in The Hague, The Netherlands but was born in Lahore, Pakistan. His roots can be clearly heard in his music. He grew up with Bollywood-music, added the Arabic melody lines and influences he knew from shisha lounges and the kawali and sufi music his father played at home and mixed it in the studio with Western hip-hop and R&B influences. “It is a clear, open sound on heavy beats that are up to date and release energy worldwide. It's the sound of now. The international Desi/Bollywood scene was in dire need of such a modern upgrade”. F1rstman is seen as the leader of this new sound and the numbers don't lie, he scores hit after hit. His refreshing, infectious and genre-transcending sound is now being imitated worldwide. His music has earned F1rstman numerous gold and platinum singles and tens of millions of audio and video streams. He has performed at major festivals in the UK and Scandinavia and received awards for Best Breakthrough Act and Best Collaboration at the BritAsia Awards in London in late 2019.
