Jack Rootes, formally named Roots, is a 24 year old rapper from Buckinghamshire, England. A shy person that usually kept to himself, Jack started rapping and making music at 18 years old, when he arrived at Youth Concern's uptown coffee bar and discovered the music studio. There, he recorded his first set of mix tapes entitled 'Jekyll & Hyde' and its sequel 'The Lost Chapters of Jekyll & Hyde'. While managing to impress family and friends with his lyrical ability, he didn't take music seriously at first. Originally, Jack had plans to release an album entitled 'The Ugly World', focusing on serious issues that he felt needed to be addressed, but following the tragic and sudden death of a close friend in January 2017, Jack took some time to himself to perfect his music craft and find his style. Since then, he has released several mix tapes online, including 'Aylesbury's Most Wanted', 'Roots is Dead!' (which in turn, was where he stopped using the Roots persona and started using his real name) and '2 AM in Aylesbury', which he considers one of his most personal mix tapes to date, while at the same time, producing instrumentals under the pseudonym Terrence Jameson. Jack has released multiple singles onto music retailers and plans to release an album one day as well. While he currently does music as a hobby, he does hope that one day, he'll be able to make a living off of the music he makes.
