Biography

Led by their namesake singer/songwriter, Swedish folk-rock band Perssons Pack were active between 1989 and 1995, during which time the band released six albums, the majority of them Top 20 hits. After the turn of the century the band reunited and released the Top Five hit comeback album Öster Om Heden in 2009. Founded in 1989, the band is comprised of Persson (vocals, guitar, mandolin), Magnus Lind (accordion, keyboards), Niklas Frisk (guitar, Dobro, mandolin), and Magnus Adell (double bass). Perssons Pack made their recording debut in 1989 with the full-length album Kärlek Och Dynamit and the singles "Bröllopsdag" and "Hanna," followed by their second album, Kanoner Och Små, Små Saker, and the single "Små, Små Saker" in 1990. These early releases helped establish a growing fan base for Perssons Pack, who reached the Top 20 of the Swedish albums chart with their next two albums, Äkta Hjärtan (1991) and Svenska Hjärten (1992), the latter a collection of cover songs. Upon switching labels to Sonet for their fifth album, Längre Bortom Bergen (1993), Perssons Pack scored their most successful single to date, the Top 40 hit "John Henry," and released one more album, Sekunder i Sverige (1995), before dissolving. In the wake of the band's dissolution, a pair of compilations, Blod Eller Guld (1998) and Diamanter (2004), was released. Perssons Pack eventually reunited with a lineup comprised of new bandmembers Love Antell (guitar), Josef Zackrisson (bass), and Peppe Lindholm (drums), in addition to Persson and Lind. The reunited band released the Top Five hit comeback album Öster Om Heden in 2009 along with the single "Stenad i Stockholm," a duet with Annika Norlin. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
