New York-based, Vancouver-bred May Cheung has established a lengthy career as a folk-pop artist in the New York music scene over the past 10 years. Her warm, enveloping and powerful vocal talent draws inspiration from jazz, pop, folk and indie-rock music. May has performed in such legendary venues as Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2, The Living Room, The Bitter End, Club Passim, The Hotel Cafe, Caffe Vivaldi, Sidewalk Cafe, and Pianos. Most recently, she was featured in Cold Tea Collective’s list of “14 Emerging Canadian Female Artists for International Women’s Day”. Her debut album, THE DEPARTURE, which she produced with NPR’s “next great jazz guitarist” Nir Felder, was hailed as “stunning from start to finish” by Huffpost. Also featured on the record are mixing engineer Yuuki Matthews (The Shins) and Grammy Award-Winning mastering engineer Chris Gehringer. In addition to her solo output, May has toured internationally and has performed at SXSW with her electronic music duo project, Scorpion Mouse
