Wolfredt is a progressive post-rock band from Tallinn, Estonia, led by Margus Voolpriit (Dreamphish, Pia Fraus, Jan Helsing). Voolpriit started the band around 10 years ago as a one-man project and released two albums under this concept. The four-piece Wolfredt was born now and worked together from the start on the upcoming third album. „Tides“ (2020) got great critics and the band toured towards middle/western Europe. With the progress of writing new songs more heavy and dark influences made it into the songwriting. The seven songs of the fourth album simply called “IIII” have this typical Wolfredt sound, but go steps forward. Heavy distorted guitar lines, layered with multiple effects play a lot with dynamics. With decent inputs of synth and noisy parts, typical ambient elements are also present in the songs. Wolfredt follows the path of progressive post-rock, that doesn’t get lost in melodies, their trademark is their experimental and forward pushing sound. Long Distance Calling, Tides Of Nebula and of course Russian Circles can be taken as similarities, but Wolfredt always has its own approach and sound.
