Rime Salmi is a singer-songwriter whose music is full of the energy she exudes. Born to Moroccan parents and raised in Canada, her music became a way for her to channel the challenges of being torn between two identities: her traditional Moroccan heritage and her western upbringing. The result? A soulful voice and catchy pop melodies on an afro-beat, with touches of derbouka, aoud and ney... the sound of a party in Africa! Rime has crafted and performed songs in French, English, Spanish and Arabic. With rhythms as joyful as her high-energy stage performance, Rime's charisma truly shines through when she is on stage. Her live performance is one that combines belly dancing, afrocentric dancing and powerful vocals. Rime has a truly unique and festive sound, combined with an exotic and unparalleled personal style. Rime's music has topped the charts and enjoyed radio play in over five countries. In 2018 she released her single "Don't Wanna Hear It" featuring Nigerian-American artist Meaku, which accumulated over 380K plays on Spotify. Rime has recently released a new single, "La2’’ (meaning ‘’no’’ in Arabic) produced by Ghanaian super-producer Willisbeats, as well as a nostalgic cover of a childhood favourite, "Batwaness Beek." 2021 is promising to be a year full of new music and exciting collaborations for Rime Salmi!
