Long Story Short (EP)

Biography

Dallas, Texas native Ayiam (Pronounced (I•Am) is a vocalist, songwriter, arranger, musician, dancer and entrepreneur who has a velvet sound that is a mix of many genres fused into her own compositions. Born into a musical household, Ayiam started singing at the age of three and soon after established her roots in the church choirs. She grew up listening to all kinds of music and has been heavily influenced by various artists such as Whitney Houston, Esperanza Spalding, Brandy, and Lauryn Hill. Ayiam first came into the world’s public eye after posting videos of herself on YouTube covering songs by artists like Beyoncé and Lianne La Havas. In her teens, she began making her mark by serving as the opening act for well known artists. This vocal sensation became recognized through her Youtube platform and was offered a full-ride scholarship to study at MVSU where she earned multiple degrees in Music and Mass Communication. While attending the HBCU, she attained the opportunity to study abroad in Germany for 2 consecutive summers at the International Performing Arts Institute. Post college, Ayiam has served as a professional background vocalist for Abraham Alexander, Janet Jackson, DIXSON and many more. In her first EP ‘Long Story Short’, written, vocally produced, arranged, and self engineered by the Queen herself, Ayiam embodies her universal Rnb/Soul sound and delivers an unboxing beginning of the all around versatile artiste that she is.
