Bright Thug aka Marvelous Travis born (Justin Travis Arjani) in Peekskill ny in 1982. He grew up in the birth of hip hop. Before rapping he was a break dancer with FBA (fabulous breakdance association). He wrote his first rap in third grade. He gives credit to LL COOL J AND RUN from RUNDMC for making him want to rap. His younger cousin Cyphlow he credits for his drive as an artist. He and Cyph have been recording and performing together from grade school. As a teenager in the 90's growing up in Peekskill, a place known for drugs and violence, it was easy for marvelous Travis to write raps about his lifestyle. Listening to grand masters such as: NAS, PAC, BIG, JADAKISS marvelous knew that he had to have BARS to survive in the rap game. Living a thugs life landed Bright Thug in NY state prison. Where he really had time to write about the struggle but from a different perspective. The one of a prisoner. His statement is: "I don't do this for the trappers, I do it for the lifers!" Being around people that's never coming home, changes you! Now Bright Thug is free. He released two projects since being released. "The Bright Idea" and "IM IT (In Marv I Trust). His new project "BIG WALLETS" due out New Year's Eve. It's easy to get a hot beat and make a song. But it's a different feel when Bright Thug gets on a track. You can feel his music.
