JACKY AMBROISE had a great vision. In 1996, he had the superb idea to create Strings with the collaboration of a musician friend Philippe Augustin. He combines flamenco, jazz, and Haitian troubadour rhythm he calls "Tropical Flamenco". Strings appeared at a time when other genres dominated Haitian music. The group managed to impose itself in a difficult market with a style different from the traditional one. At the end of 2008, Jacky is diagnosed with a brain tumor, the dreams of the artist fly up in smoke. He undergoes surgery in February 2009. The consequences are disastrous as Jacky loses all his essential functions. No more question of performing on stage. Thankfully, memory was not affected . With his discipline, patience, perseverance and his determination he succeeds in relearning everything. Simply Incredible. It was no longer thought to find that melodious sound of Strings. In December 2009, Jacky returns to the stage. What emotions, laughs and tears, a real miracle !!! Since then, Jacky has set to work and regained his dexterity. Now the band with 8 musicians is performing again around the world . In December 2016, Strings released its latest CD "An Kreyol" his 7th record which is very successful. They continue international tours having just returned from Kazakhstan and are preparing for a tour in the United States. Strings' music is currently present in 7 continents and Jacky has truly achieved his dream of transcending boundaries with his music and style.
