By 14, Kura was producing, rapping, & engineering himself from his bedroom in Royal Oak, Michigan. Inspired by the Sex Pistols, Aphex Twin, & Pi’erre Bourne, he quickly gained recognition for his confident vocals, versatile flows, & dizzying melodies. Kura’s lyrics not only portrayed the rockstar life he was about to have, but also the reality & adversity he faced. Kura’s music continues to develop, reflecting his ever-evolving lifestyle, mindset, and taste. His 2020 album, Akura, helped lay the blueprint for hyperpop, featuring producers like star boy & Loesoe, who've contributed to the recent sounds of Trippie Redd, Playboi Carti, & more. Working with lumbyst, Kura’s released 2 singles: “REAL SCISSORS” & “ICEKREAM”. As frequent collaborators, the duo has plans for a 2025 joint project. During his time as Blockboy K, Kura garnered the attention of some of rap’s biggest names. He was offered the opportunity to work with Grammy award-winning rapper/producer, Pi’erre Bourne, & signed to his label, SOSSHOUSE. As a versatile producer, Kura's produced for big-names like Babyface Ray, G.T., & Veeze. He also has collaborations with Chavo, SSGKobe, Sharc, sharkboy, & more. Inspired by 1980s punk scenes, Kura's debut album Born Seditionary demonstrated a new direction for him sonically, with the help of Pi’erre's unmatched production. With each release, Kura shares his transformative journey with authenticity & vulnerability, & Born Seditionary was the next chapter in that story.
