Biography

It’s not easy to make it out of a place like St. Louis. Some cities seem steeped in darkness, as if the buildings themselves are blackened with a patina of gloom. Decades of systematic oppression and poverty seem to cling like an impenetrable fog to the famed Gateway Arch, a gleaming monument to what could have been. MBz has emerged like a ray of light out of the void as a singularly powerful voice for the city that needs it the most. Life wasn’t easy for MBz, the South St. Louis wunderkind also known as MBz Live. He wasn’t supposed to make it out, as he’ll tell you in his aptly titled fan-favorite “Project Baby”. The first major move in his sharp ascent was joining STL rap boss Guccio’s YAYO Gang. Guccio, himself an early manager and mentor to Future, saw enough promise in MBz to bring the young upstart to the rap proving ground of Atlanta. MBz then spent months honing his skills in ATL, living and working in the same house with local legends such as Yakki, Lil Silk, Lotto Savage, and more. MBz has returned to St. Louis with renewed vigor and purpose. He is as wide-eyed and ready-for-anything as the day he first started rapping, but armed with time-tested skills and a keen sense of self. Now he has the tools for the takeover. MBz is poised to take over the city by blending his own deeply grounded stories from the street with today’s most daring and uncompromising production. Forever fighting the odds, MBz Live is ready to rise above and make it OUT THE BLACK.
