Biography

Shy Kedmi (1985) is a composer of Israeli music. He has been especially enamored by Scandinavian music and aesthetics, with artists such as Björk and Sigur Rós being a particularly strong influence. He is a studied classical pianist, obtaining his BFA in Classical Piano from The City College of New York, where he specialized in 19th-21st century music. He has been acknowledged with the ASCAP-Chappell/City College Gershwin Award for Classical Composition by his teacher, the renowned composer Mr. David Del Tredici. His music oftentimes strives to merge between the Scandinavian aesthetics of Björk and the French impressionist ones of Maurice Ravel - for Kedmi, they are one and the same.
