DJ Butta, is an American DJ, music producer, Manager, originally from Miami, Florida who came to attention after helping pioneer the Miami Hip Hop Scene in the 90's. He began a love for music that started ever since his brother introduced him to the world of Hip Hop and House Music that came out of NY's underground scene. When Butta first heard Nas' verse on "Live at the BBQ" he knew his calling. Butta bought 2 turntables, practicing his craft of mixing, blending, cutting, & learned the art of Djing. Butta spun in Miami Beach clubs, released mixtapes, hosted radio shows & later decided to move to NY in 2000. Butta continued to release Mix-CDs, he gain notoriety & nominated "Best New Mixtape DJ" in the Justo Mixtape Awards. He gained recognition from mixtapes with exclusive Hip Hop, Blends & hosted by Jadakiss, Jim Jones, Peedi Crack, started a new Hip Hop Brand named "Wake Up" with Talib Kweli. Butta began producing on an ASR-10 & specialized in making NY style Hip Hop Beats. Producing for a few Hip Hop groups. He connected with a new Colombian Latino Urban Artist signed him to DoubleCross Music and gave him his name "JV Dres". He began to exclusively produce and distribute his music, while continuing to push the creative threshold. He is now fully focused and returned to his roots and love for Hip-Hop.
