Combining his roots in Southern Hip Hop, R&B, Gospel, Soul and Funk, Shylo addresses topics of sexuality, love and masculinity amidst a personal journey of growth. Known as SHY, Chad grew up singing in church and began performing at the age of 7. At home, Shy endured an often tumultuous childhood. Music served as an outlet for the aspiring artist who idolized James Brown, Prince, Freddie Mercury, Al Green, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. Regularly winning talent competitions and obtaining lead roles in school plays, his ability to play snare and bass led him to join the band further cementing his roots and passion for music. After writing and recording his first song at 16 he began producing and writing all of his work and for other artists. Eventually his evolution would see him making his move from Charlotte NC to Brooklyn NY as he now looks forward to furthering his musical career and build upon the success he has achieved. He ended 2019 with a three night residency at the infamous Nuyorican Cafe in New York City's East Village, the release of his 3 part Artist Documentary and release of his debut EP entitled 'No Feelings" with the single 'I Cant Be' accumulating 15K streams off 7 days of streaming promotion. With the EP he explains' Each song is but a step in a man's journey of getting his shit together"
