Ohio-born, Jersey-raised, Brooklyn-surviving multi-instrumentalist Evan Dibbs is a highly-hyphenated, multi-faceted singer-songwriter. His music is compellingly adventurous yet old-souled; marked by a folk-sharp sense of observation and sweeping sonic explorations. Dibbs’ forthcoming debut album, Breathe to Break, is a cool splash of water that rallies listeners to reflect on their relationship to the natural world, art, and language. Produced by sought-after NJ producer Erik Kase Romero (The Front Bottoms), Breathe to Break is Dibbs’ most individualistic work yet and is the result of many stints in folk, indie, bluegrass, jazz, rock, and chamber music. In addition to his own music, Dibbs has established himself as a swiss-army-knife presence in the NY/NJ music scene, working as a session player, producer, and film composer. At the heart of this work is a creative fluency in stringed instruments where he has developed an identifiable voice in both traditional and genre-pushing contexts.
