Dreekz is the latest emerging star on the British and East African music scene, with a fresh new sound expressing his East African and UK heritage. Dreekz has drawn on a deep well of musical inspiration from his East African, Kenyan-UK family to emerge as a Gen-Z Afrobeats artist rooted in both East Africa and the UK. Encouraged by his Father’s love of music, Dreekz is equally at home with the drums, bass guitar, piano and mixing desk and his love for his favourite instrument, the acoustic guitar, features heavily in his current sounds. A gifted dancer, with skills boosted by his experience as an elite-level Footballer. Dreekz fuses, Afro beats, Amapiano, Rap and Brit-Hop to bring the East African vibe to the UK and the world. With flows referencing his African ambiance, Kenyan heritage and UK upbringing, and beats created with whiz production collaborator and confidante Rkayy, Dreekz burst onto Instagram Live in 2021 freestyling to Footballer star Jaden Sancho. Dreekz’s debut 2022 single “Party” caught a strong vibe in both UK and East Africa, where he has gained a following in the East African music scene with live collabs and performances, electrifying his “Kenyan Freestyle” rap to go viral on tik tok. More collabs with many artists in the pipeline and Dreekz’s latest single, Amapiano anthem “Down For Me” was released in May 2023 and has caught fire after play time on BBC Radio Introducing in the UK, and KUTV in Nairobi.
