Since forming in Launceston in 2016, The Sleepyheads (Pat Broxton / Vocalist & Guitarist, Cam Locke / Bassist, Sean Zolnierczak / Drums, Dan Barton / Guitarist) have become a force to be reckoned with in the Australian indie punk scene, with their honest approach to creating relatable sonic experiences that pack a powerful punk-rock punch. It’s that buzz-worthy style that earned The Sleepyheads a coveted triple j Unearthed Feature Artist slot, leading to a milestone performance at triple j’s One Night Stand in St Helens. The band have since gone on to appear at some of Australia’s most-loved festivals, including Falls Festival, Party In the Paddock, Til The Wheels Fall Off and Woolly Mammoth. Returning last year with their first release since 2019, The Sleepyheads’ July single ‘Nihilist’ saw the band earn airplay on triple j’s Home and Hosed, Good Nights and 2021, being named as one of triple j Unearthed’s Top 5 Uploads of the Week and receiving praise from Wall Of Sound, Music Feeds, Pilerats, Tongue Tied Magazine (US), BLUNT and more.
