ZGRT is the new project from New York City based songwriter/producer/vocalist Zachery Allan Starkey, who uses analogue synthesizers and electronics to craft heavily emotional dance floor journeys. Starkey garners the influences of Techno, House, synthpop, postpunk, New Wave, Italo Disco, and HI-NRG, pulling elements from this spectrum to create his own unique sound of self-expression. After releasing a trio of well received solo albums, Starkey founded ZGRT as a a vehicle for both solo and collaborative recordings. Starkey produced the lead ZGRT single HARD POWER with Gavin Russom, the influential synthesizer magician of LCD Soundsystem and Black Meteoric Star fame. Hard Power received high critical marks and extensive play in the nightclubs of NYC, Berlin, and Tokyo. In March 2017, Starkey/ ZGRT released the uplifting, House inspired single CONNECTION via a lavish premiere in PASTE Magazine, followed by the full length HARD POWER album. The album, written and performed primarily by Starkey and produced with Abe Seiferth, features songs about the increasingly unstable state of global politics, the seedy undersides New York City nightlife, and sexual and relationship dynamics, powered by analogue synthesizers and drum machines. Starkey and ZGRT supported the HARD POWER LP by with the legendary New Order on their Music Complete tour, which included a spectacular sold out show at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall, followed by an extensive headlining tour of their own. <br>
