GEORG REISS Clarinet, soprano and alto saxophone, tárogáto. A performer of jazz, gospel, classic, klezmer, gipsy and traditional Norwegian folk- music. Born in Oslo, Norway i 1956. After studies at The Norwegian State Academy of Music and Guildhall School of Music in London, he has worked as a freelance musician. He is playing regulary with bands and orchestras with a broad specter of musical styles: GEORG REISS KVARTETT -For All We Know- plays jazz from the swing era, his musicians are of the finest in the Norwegian jazz scene. In GJERTRUD ØKLAND’S GIPSY ORCHESTRA, -På Reis, På Reis a forcefull band of gipsy- and klezmer music, his devotion for these styles is to be heard.His own group STREIF, is a crossoverband based on norwegian folkmusic.
