Isabel Sörling is not like others. She detonates fireworks with her voice, powerful and completely free, fierce and completely inhabited, and by her almost mystical personality and charisma. With her new album Mareld this young Swedish artist succeeds in 11 luminous titles to create a new ritual. She's currently based in Paris, often touring with musicians from France, Scandinavia or other European countries on the jazz and improvised scene. (Paul Lay, Cirque Farouche, Airelle Besson Quartet, Cabaret Contemporarian, YOU, Bribe4, Clement Edouard, Guilhem Flouzat, Anne Paceo, Coax Collective and more). She co-leads the two Swedish groups FARVEL and SOIL COLLECTORS and has also released two records under her own name. (A feather from a human 2011, Something came with the sun 2013 - produced by Ibrahim Maalouf) In the fall of 2016 Isabel was listed as one of the five most influential contemporary jazz musicians in Europe by the British newspaper The Guardian. And one year later, in 2017, she was awarded by the jazz magazine Citizen Jazz’s prize ”Les etoile du jazz”, in the category ”Révelation Vocale”. Futhermore Isabel is appearing on serveral films, short films and documentaries like HUMAN, WOMEN and TERRA by Yann Arthus Bertrand/Armand Amar, Mia and the white lion, Donne moi les ailes, Une chance de trop, Jusqu’au Dernier, Maman a tort, Marona's fantastic tale, Marche avec les loups and more, and in the dance performance "Vertikal" (Mourad Merzouki/Cie Käfig).
