"zurich" is Vienna/Zurich-based saxophonist and composer yvonne moriel’s newest single after her genre-crossing EP sweet life. Pushing the boundaries of Jazz and mixing it with Dub, Hiphop and Electronic, it got the newcomer jazz saxophonist quite some international attention. You’ll find everything from french art magazines up to british music blogs, german YouTube-giant Majestic Casual and Sony Denmark. For the latter she did her most recent track, "zurich", released on March 3rd 2023. It deepens the dub meets jazz - connection of her previous EP and mixes it up with some uptempo-reggae grooves and ecstatic yet simple, almost trance-like soloing of the tenor saxophone. Everything has been done analogue – every instrument recorded live and as a one-take, the dubbing done live with an old tape delay and even the stem-mastering has been done on tape.
