Analogue Dear is the disguise of Rotterdam-based pianist and bedroom producer Sjaak Douma. While the outside world hurries by unaware, Douma meticulously crafts music from the heart within the quiet corners of his apartment. Using a no-frills home studio set-up, he has recorded and released music since 2012 through notable labels as bitbird (San Holo’s imprint) and Erased Tapes, to acclaim by FACTmag, Vice, and Indieshuffle. As a collaborator, Douma has worked with accomplished math rock guitarist Yvette Young, and has released official remixes for Nils Frahm, San Holo, Droeloe and Catching Flies. Next to releasing music, Douma teaches piano, is a published author and transcriber of sheet music, and co-founded multi-disciplinary platform //\ hoekhuis together with Katía Truijen.
