Biography

Sohnarr is the solo project of Patricia Vanneste. As a violinist, singer and composer she has been touring internationally with various bands and projects since the age of 17 (including Balthazar, Hydrogen Sea, Amatorski, Driftwood,...) In 2018, she made the decision to shed all pretenses and heed her own calling. As a co-founder, she left the music group Balthazar and, in 2020, released her debut album "Coral Dusk" under the name Sohnarr. This album was composed and recorded in the expansive landscapes of Sweden and Norway when she embarked on a solo journey from hut to hut for several months. Nature was essential for her to break free from her assumed identity and reveal what had remained invisible until then. Additionally, she formed her own studio quartet (Cordette Quartet) and composed music for theater productions (Nieuwstedelijk), TV shows (HIGHT TIDES/Knokke Off), art installations and specific locations of significance. She approaches music with the intention of helping people open the door to a different state of being, using her music as a foundation and recognition for emotions that words often fail to express.
