Okito was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. The child of Guyanese immigrants, whose passions included calypso and poetry, he grew to develop a musical intuition. His appreciation grew as he was raised on sounds such as Bob Marley, Nat King Cole, James Brown, Mahalia Jackson, and The Beatles. He eventually developed his own passion for Hip-hop, and now he takes all of those influences and forms them into one sound.
