Biography

From Old-School bops, Trap music to sad and melodic vibes, $hakes is the most versatile rapper in the game. Upon releasing “Old School Shit”, the very first track $hakes ever released, on SoundCloud, he came in hot with a head-bopping flow with a mastered Old-School vibe, later releasing ‘Shakes Motel’ all at the age of 18. Around the age of 19, he was heartbroken, it changed his motive and style, creating his own style. This era was the time of his free mixtape ‘LOST’ which created a unique style never heard before by other sad artists. Unfortunately, he took the tape down soon after releasing it. Constant research and understanding soon came to be his focus until he got the sad vibes down and was able to connect them with his emotions. Around 20 years old, $hakes finally discovered somewhat of a small fanbase and people started connecting with him, whether that be through his hard stuff or his sad stuff. So, upon releasing ‘Empty’ which is his first “good album”, under the name Young Cope, he made a few small hits that caught the eyes of many people, especially 16-25 years old. A few of those hits, “Soundcloud” and “Neva Again”, hit almost 10k streams across platforms. Excited about his new, unique, versatile voice, $hakes decided to focus on Trap and sad music. Turning 21 years old, ‘Monster That I Am’ was released November 23, 2020, streaming over 15k across all platforms shortly after releasing. This amazing album is the best sad album put together with true meaning.
