DJ Maskarilha has begun is career as a bedroom DJ in 97, always motivated by Hip-Hop culture recreated in spray paint and by the drums and snares while listening to vinyl records. Pointed out as one of the best Portuguese DJ’s. From the beginning of his career has been working in some musical projects such as the group Nigga Poison, (nominated for the Portuguese awards Golden Globes in 2007) supporting them on tour. Currently he's official tour DJ for Rapper Kappa Jotta, and the female rapper Chong Kwong. A truly Vinyl, Scratch and Graffiti lover who channels his inspirations to the creation of energetic live sets and musical production in studio. Master of styles, travels among the most varied music genres using his Turntablism and Scratch skills to play from Hip Hop, Dance Hall, R&B, Trap, Grime, Afro, Reggae, Funk and Bass Music. On stage shared booth with international references such as DJ Qbert (USA), Kid Fresh (GER), DJ Damented (BEL), DJ Physique (Missy Elliot official DJ) and DJ Vadim (UK) who edit a Refix together, as well played with the North American Rapper, Tame One from the group Artifacts. In 2014 he produces and directs the music video “POLTERGEIST”- feat. Jackpot BCV and DJ Nel'Assassin alongside with Miguel Almeida, music by his own authorship released on the renowned platform Vice. In the begging of 2021 he was declared DJ of the Year by Portuguese Platform HipHopSouEu.
